Wolvestock - Wolverhampton Racecourse

The annual country music festival returns to Wolverhampton for its 22nd year - and runs until Sunday.

This is an outdoor festival, visitors are permitted to bring chairs onsite, no BBQs are permitted onsite.

Tickets cost £7 for adults, £4 for children and under twos go free. Visitor parking during the day is free.

The Big Arts Show - Green Haus, Shrewsbury

Following its success in 2014 and 2015, The Big Arts Show will be taking place again in 2016

As a showcase for the best in British arts and crafts the event has over 120 exhibitors featuring sculptors, painters, metal workers, jewellers, glass artists, ceramacists, furniture designers and textiles with artists hosting talks about their work.

There are many other activities for adults and children including art and craft demonstrations, film, photography, animation, puppetry and performing artists with live music throughout the day and an area dedicated to work from new graduates.

Tickets are priced at £6.60 in advance and £7.50 on the day

Legend of blues Buddy Guy keeps the spirit of the genre alive and is set to perform at the Symphony Hall this weekend.

Guy played with Muddy Waters and before his death, Guy once explained that Muddy Waters’ final request to him was “keep the damn blues alive”. 

Tickets range from £53 to £58 with the show starting at 7.30pm

Winner of ITV's Show Me The Funny, this half-Iranian, half-Middlesborough comic Patrick Monahan will perform at the Katie Fitzgerald's comedy club, Fitz of Laughter.

Monahan will perform alongside Geordie motor-mouth Barry Dodds, Laughing Horse New Act of the year 2013 Finalist Andrew McBurney and Nottingham Comedy Festival Award nominee Wayne Beese.

The show is Judy Craymer’s ingenious vision of staging the story-telling magic of ABBA’s timeless songs with an enchanting tale of family and friendship unfolding on a Greek island paradise. 

To date, it has been seen by more than 54 million people in 49 productions in 14 different languages.

David Walliams' Gangsta Granny returns to the New Alexandra Theatre

David Walliams' Gangsta Granny is set to take to the stage in Birmingham once more this weekend at the New Alexandra Theatre.

The story is based around an 11-year-old boy, Ben, and his ballroom dancing parents who pack him off to his boring granny’s every Friday night while they take to the dance floor. 

Faced with a three course meal of cabbage soup, cabbage mousse and cabbage cake followed by a story at bedtime, he comes to dread these visits and longs for some excitement. Sensing this, Granny cooks up fantastical tales of how she was the Black Cat, an infamous international jewel thief.

Star Wars and Beyond - Symphony Hall, Birmingham

Due to very popular demand the sell-out show Star Wars & Beyond will return for an extra date at the Symphony Hall this weekend.

Fans of the film series and space alike will be transported through the galaxy with an array of lights, lasers, fireworks and musical scores from the films.

Around the World in 80 Days - Saint Nicolas Place, Kings Norton

Join fearless adventurer Phileas Fogg and his faithful manservant as they race to beat the clock and traverse the world in 80 days this weekend at Saint Nicolas Place.

A range of emotions litter the show as five actors portraying 39 characters traverse seven continents in Mark Brown's adaptation of one of the great adventures of all time.
