Faustus set for Market Drayton

Bloke folk pioneers Faustus have a new record and are back on the road to celebrate.

Faustus set for Market Drayton

Their seventh release, if you include earlier moniker Dr Faustus, it is called Death & Other Animals.

Faustus is an established name in the English folk scene made up of three of the best-known and talented English folk musicians – Paul Sartin (Bellowhead, Belshazzar’s Feast), Benji Kirkpatrick (Bellowhead, Seth Lakeman Band), and Saul Rose (Waterson: Carthy, War Horse).

This year they have been artists in residence with Halsway Manor, the national centre for folk arts in Somerset, where they have had access to the Manor’s extensive library. Material found there has shaped this new album, which was also recorded in the manor.

Their tour stops off at Market Drayton’s Festival Drayton Centre on Thursday, October 20.
