It was golden buzzers at the ready as hundreds flocked to Birmingham Hippodrome as the live Britain’s Got Talent auditions rolled into town.
Eager fans and auditionees
anxiously queued beside the red carpet outside the Hurst Street venue
this afternoon in hope of a selfie with judges Simon Cowell, Amanda
Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams.
Even workmen were poised on scaffolding above the theatre to catch that all-important snap of the judges.
Pam James, from Smethwick said she wanted a selfie with David before watching the matinee show.
"I love him, he's just really funny and entertaining," she said.
"I hope that this year they find a really good solo singer, dancer or comedian."
Crowds chanted 'Simon' but ITV2 co-presenter Stephen Mulhern was the first to arrive with his own two-part brass band players.
The BGT team will be at the Hippodrome until Saturday, after which six filmed sessions will have taken place at 2pm and 7pm each day, in hope of finding the nation’s next variety champ.
The crew had previously spent time in Birmingham, Liverpool and Manchester seeking acts at open auditions.
Audiences then had the chance to watch those who had been invited back to perform live in front of the judges.
The tenth series of the nation’s best loved talent competition will premier later this spring with Ant and Dec returning as presenters.
