The world-famous celebration of all things foodie, first run in 1995, will feature more than 150 independent food and drink producers from Shropshire and the Marches, inside Ludlow Castle for three days from September 9 to 11.

This year guests will include winners of Masterchef: The Professionals and The Great British Menu as well as Raymond Blanc’s right hand man Adam Johnson, as seen on the BBC TV show Raymond Blanc’s Kitchen Secrets.

Jo Gadsby, speaking for the festival, said: “The Ludlow Food Festival is back in 2016 with a fantastic line-up of chefs, amazing food producers and an array of fabulous attractions throughout the weekend.

“From world class food exhibitions to tutored tasting and the famous sausage and ale trail, it’s perfect for food lovers everywhere. Great British Menu winner Richard Bainbridge will be taking to the stage as will Masterchef: The Professionals winner Mark Stinchcombe, alongside his wife and fellow award-winning chef Sue.

“There’s a new area too for 2016, hosted by Buy-From Shropshire which will be running a series of talks and debates around the festival’s theme this year which is sustainable food and farming, and reducing waste.

“Little ones won’t miss out either with a special kids areas with cookery lessons and pottery classes.”

There will be the usual host of food festival trails and a Sunday market. Photography will be on display with the Pink Lady Food Photographer of the Year Exhibition at the Ludlow Assembly Rooms, among a full programme of events including a pop-up restaurant, book talks and signings.
