Foodies will be flocking to Birmingham as the fourth annual Colmore Business District Food Festival comes to the city centre.

Colmore Business District Food Festival

The event returns to Victoria Square tomorrow and Saturday and will see 24 venues - all of which are local businesses with premises within a 10 minute walk of Victoria Square - serving up an array of food and drink.

Visitors can sample dishes from venues, including Michelin-starred cuisine, for just £3. Alongside the food offering there will be artisan coffees, real ales, fine wines, champagne and cocktails from as little as £1.50 - £5.

CBD newcomers Pure Bar & Kitchen, Chung Ying Central, Isaacs and The Bureau will join long-established venues Purnell’s, Metro Bar & Grill, Opus at Cornwall Street, Asha’s Contemporary Indian Bar & Restaurant and Hotel du Vin during the festival.

Highlights include live cookery demonstrations from top chefs, including Michelin-starred chef Glynn Purnell and Opus at Cornwall Street’s chef director, David Colcombe. There will also be cocktail making demos from Ginger’s Bar and The Jekyll & Hyde.

Harry Potter stars James and Oliver Phelps will also make an appearance on Saturday for a cooking demo alongside local chefs Glynn and David.

The festival will also feature live music courtesy of the Birmingham International Jazz & Blues Festival, a specially commissioned piece from The Young Rep, spontaneous street theatre and performances from CBD’s Colmore Chorus choir across both days.
