Classic cars, wildlife and famous buildings – it’s all there to see up close and crystal clear at Himley Hall.
The talents of Stourbridge Photographic Society will be on display for all to see for the next five months. Dozens of people attended the historic hall at the weekend for the club’s largest-ever exhibition.
A total of 172 images are available to view until September, and everybody at the club has chipped in towards the exhibition, from those who are more experienced with the camera to beginners. Club secretary John Bissell said: “It is a selection of everybody’s prints from the club, right from beginners, so it caters for everybody.” For Mr Bissell, aged 74, from Wollascote, Stourbridge, the launch of the exhibition is a proud moment.
He has been part of the Stourbridge Photographic Society for more than 40 years and has seen its membership steadily grow. There are around 60 members. Mr Bissell said: “We had an exhibition previously at Himley but that was only for about a month. To have one for five months is absolutely amazing. We might change the pictures half way through. The photos have been in competitions and exhibitions before. There are portraits, landscapes, still life, you name it. We just want as many people as possible to come and see them.”
